How to Design the Working Pressure of Weld Neck Flanges?

    The working pressure of a neck flange is the pressure parameter of a flange, and the material is different from the working temperature. The working pressure of the neck flange is also different. How is the working pressure of the weld neck flange designed?

    The non-impact working pressure of the neck flange is not exactly the same as the so-called design pressure and the maximum working pressure, which is also called the maximum operating pressure. The former emphasizes the stability and continuity of flange pressure, which is a very ideal pressure state, while the latter often includes pressure fluctuations and represents its peak value. Neck flange has good comprehensive performance, so it is widely used in basic projects such as chemical industry, construction, water supply, drainage, petroleum, light and heavy industry, refrigeration, sanitation, plumbing, fire protection, electric power, aerospace, shipbuilding and so on.
    The working pressure of the weld neck flange refers to the highest pressure value that may appear on the top of the pressure vessel under normal operating conditions. The design pressure, that is, the pressure used to determine the shell of the vessel under the corresponding design temperature, and its value shall not be less than the maximum working pressure.
    When all of us are designing the working pressure of the weld neck flange, we should design in the correct way according to the working pressure of the necked flange.
    Large-diameter flanges are not easy to deform, have good sealing, and are widely used. They are suitable for pipelines with large fluctuations in pressure or temperature or high-temperature, high-pressure and low-temperature pipelines. The advantage is that the price is relatively cheap, and the nominal pressure does not exceed 2.5MPa; it is also used for transportation prices. On pipelines with expensive, flammable and explosive media, the nominal pressure is around PN16MPa.
